Court issues arrest warrants for Omar Ayub, Zartaj Gul, Sheikh Waqas

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad on Monday issued arrest warrants of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Omar Ayub, Sheikh Waqas Akram, and Zartaj Gul in the Sangjani public gathering case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra heard the case. The Judge also rejected the exemption plea filed by PTI leader Omar Ayub.

The ATC judge expressed his anger and said “these people failed to appear in the court, even for one hearing”.

Advocates Sardar Mohammad Masroof Khan Amna Ali and Murtaza Toori appeared in the court on behalf of PTI leaders.

Later, the judge adjourned the hearing of the case till October 20, 2025.

Qureshi’s interim bail extended

An anti-terrorism court in Lahore on Monday extended the interim bail granted to PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi till October 31 in connection with the Jinnah House and Askari Tower attack cases.

During the hearing of the case, jail warrant papers of Shah Mehmood Qureshi were presented to the court.

Duty Judge Arshad Javed ordered lawyers to submit their arguments on the next date of hearing.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi filed a bail petition in cases related to the attack on Jinnah House and Askari Tower.

Earlier, the interim bail petitions were rejected due to the arrest of Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

Later, the bail petitions were restored on the orders of the Lahore High Court (LHC).
