Notorious dacoit killed in Faisalabad police encounter

A notorious dacoit was gunned down, another was injured, and his three accomplices escaped during a police encounter in Faisalabad, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.

According to the details, Crime Control Department (CCD) Circle Officer Farooq Nazir established a picket in the Balochni area after receiving information about presence of dacoits. 

The CCD team intercepted the dacoits and signaled them to stop, but they started firing on the CCD team.

During a heavy exchange of fire, dacoit Khalid alias Khalo was seriously injured after being hit by bullets and was taken to the hospital, but he died.

Police said that the dead dacoit was involved in over a dozen criminal cases, which include dacoity, robbery, and kidnapping.

Two injured dacoits arrested in Khairpur

In another police encounter, two dacoits who were seriously injured during a heavy exchange of fire at Chathan Shah Road, in Gambat, Khairpur.

Police said that they received credible information that some dacoits were trying to escape after snatching a motorcycle.

An encounter started between the police and dacoits, after which two dacoits became seriously injured and were later arrested. Later both dacoits were identified as Shahid Ali and Dilshad Ali Khaskhali.

Police recovered two pistols and a motorcycle from the possession of the arrested dacoits. Police said that they are examining the record of injured dacoits registered against them in other police stations of district Khairpur.
