PM vows to remove hurdles for overseas Pakistanis investment

Prime Minister Imran Khan said his government was working for removing all the hurdles for overseas Pakistanis so they could invest easily in Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

PM said that Pakistan wanted to create easiness and opportunities for 9 million overseas Pakistanis.

Imran Khan said that expatriate Pakistani nationals are skilled people and their annual salary was approximately equal to 220 million Pakistanis. “In Pakistan, the system is not working and all become successful abroad.

He was addressing the groundbreaking ceremony of the multinational hotel in Galiyat Nathia Gali.

“Overseas Pakistanis bought plots after much struggle and effort but their plots were encroached by the land mafia in Pakistan. We are moving forward with every passing year. “There is an increase in large-scale manufacturing is functioning now,” he added.

“We did not try to increase the exports in the past which could eventually help us to repay the loans in dollars,” the PM said.

PM emphasised on tourism said Pakistan wanted to utilize the maximum potential of tourism in the country. “We invested on tourism in KP government and as per UNDP report poverty was reduced in quickly from KP in our first government there,” he added.

Imran Khan said, “A brand like Hilton make hotel on a watershed and this will attract the high tourists which will eventually bring more money and create wealth and now the Galiyat resort will be opened in both season summers and winters.”  

“After the hotel, now resorts and skiing are on the pipeline as one Austrian told me that Pakistan has more potential for skiing than other countries because snow remained on top mountain peaks for the extended time period,” he said.

“Around 2.7 million tourists visited the KP,” he added.  Giving the example of Dubai, the PM Khan said that what was in Dubai--desert and sea---but they made resorts their and people now go for tourism.
