Observing the flood situation in Sindh, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will take a final decision on conducting or not the by-elections on three seats in Karachi tomorrow.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the ECP has called the meeting to address the issue of by-elections in three constituencies of the National Assembly (NA) in Karachi.
The channel report said that the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) will preside over the meeting and review the floods situation for holding the by-elections.
The sources said that a report will be sought from law enforcement and other relevant agencies regarding the availability of their personnel on the day of the election as the Pakistan Army and state institutes are fully engaged in flood relief operations nowadays.
As well as a report about the availability of polling staff will also be reviewed in the meeting and will also decide whether to postpone the by-elections in three constituencies or not.
It is worth mentioning that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced to contest by-elections on these three seats from Karachi.
