PML-N President and Opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif Thursday adopted before the Supreme Court that Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) should be given the decision power, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
“No-confidence motion is pending, and the assembly has been dissolved,” he said and added that all the opposition and allied parties wanted to see a prosperous Pakistan.
“If the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was legitimate, our government will also be legitimate,” Shehbaz said and demanded the court to restore the assembly.
“I will not be a part of any blame game. The country needs a healing hand. I present the Charter of Economy. The country needs a hand to put ointment on its wounds. The economic charter should be signed. We have 176 parliamentarians. I assure you of abiding by the Constitution,” stated the opposition leader.
“How many seats did you get in 2018 elections? The majority party has the right to form the government. Your government had completed five years. We have to keep the reality in mind,” said Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial.
“Why don’t you go for new elections?” questioned Justice Jamal Mandokhail.
“The 2018 elections had been stolen,” answered Shehbaz Sharif. “We want transparent elections, but we have to look at the violation of the Constitution,” he added.
