Agriculture Dept, GPI sign MoU to launch 'One Stop Solution' for farmers

Punjab Agriculture Department has singed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Green Corporate Initiative (GPI) to facilitate farmers through a 'One Stop Solution’, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

Under this initiative, GPI will set up model agriculture malls in Multan, Bahawalpur, Sargodha, and Sahiwal districts. All model agriculture malls to become functional within 45 days. 

Agricultural products, loans, and other services will be provided at the model agriculture malls. Modern agricultural machinery and tractor services will be available at the model agriculture farms. To promote mechanized farming, the latest agricultural equipment will also be available for rent.

Drone spray services will also be made available to farmers. For their convenience, model agriculture malls will be established in 10 more districts. At the model agriculture farms, farmers will be able to address their problems and fulfill their needs under one roof. 

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also attended the MoU ceremony. 

Addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that with the establishment of the Model Agriculture Mall, farmers will no longer have to rely on middlemen or suffer in poverty. 

She expressed that Farmers were, are, and will always remain our brothers. The development of farmers is, in fact, the development of Pakistan, she added. Maryam Nawaz Sharif stressed that in a short period of time, she brought a record initiative for farmers. 

She emphasized that her government’s practical and historic steps have proven that “Farmers are our brothers, and we stand with them at every stage.”
