Islamabad Police introduce Online Taxi Verification App
In order to ensure the safety of commuters, especially females, travelling through online taxi, the Islamabad Police have introduced an ‘Online Taxi Verification App’, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
The Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ali Nasir Rizvi has said that the police and taxi services will remain in touch with each other through the app. “The app has been prepared especially keeping in view the risks posed to female passengers and will help the police keep an eye on the movements of taxis,” he has said, adding, “The safety of people is a top priority for the federal capital police.”
The IGP has further said that there is an emergency button in the app for immediately reporting unverified vehicles to the police. “Commuters can download the app from the official website of the Islamabad Police,” he has informed.
