Patrol police constable martyred while stopping trailer in Lodhran

A patrol police constable was martyred in Lodhran while attempting to stop an overloaded trailer, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.

According to the channel report, the police officer died on the spot after coming under the vehicle during the operation.

The deceased constable was identified as Piran Ditta, who was serving at the Rukan Pur Patrol Police Post.

Officials said the incident occurred as he tried to intercept the overloaded trailer during routine enforcement duties.

Following the collision, the trailer overturned, injuring five people travelling on the vehicle.

Rescue teams responded to the scene and shifted the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital, where they received medical treatment.

Authorities have begun an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident, while officials paid tribute to the constable, who lost his life in the line of duty.
