Pakistan reports 3,795 new virus cases; 37 deaths

The upward trend in new coronavirus cases, as well as virus-related deaths, continues in Pakistan as the country Monday reported 3,795 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours (Sunday), the latest data from the National Command and Control (NCOC) shows.

There were 37 more causalities related to the deadly disease as death toll due to coronavirus has reached 8,398 that represents a ratio of 2%.

According to the latest figures, 3,795 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 39,076 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 420,294 that returned positive after conducting 5,794,242 total tests so far.

The number of active cases in the country reached 55,354 with 2,539patient in critical condition.

There were 1,530 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 356,542 with an 84.8% recovery rate.

Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 807 new cases in last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 123,762 with 21,189 active cases. The province reported 15 new virus-related death as death toll reached 3,177. With 86 new recoveries, 99,396 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.

The most affected province Sindh has once again recorded 2,013 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 184,486 with 21,886 active cases. The province reported 8 new deaths as the death toll reached 3,019. With 1,014 new recoveries, 159,581 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 456 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 49,676 with 4,010 active cases. The province reported 9 new virus-related death as death toll reached 1,413. With 86 new recoveries, 44,253 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Balochistan has recorded another 26 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 17,466 with 561 active cases. The province reported no new virus-related death as the death toll remains at 169. With 73 new recoveries, 16,736 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Islamabad has recorded 402 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 32,816 with 6,079 active cases. One new death was reported in the Federal Capital as the virus death toll reached 341. With 188 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 26,396 in the federal capital so far.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 78 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 7,356 with 1,477 active cases. With 4 new deaths reported, the death toll reached at 181. There were 69 new recoveries in the AJK as 5,698 patients have recovered so far from the virus.

Gilgit-Baltistan has recorded 13 new cases during the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 4,732 with 152 active cases. With no new death reported in the province, the death toll remains at 98. There were 14 new recoveries as patients recovered from the deadly disease remained at 4,482.
