IHC orders FIA to conduct forensic of Bushra-Khosa audio talk
Ordering the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to conduct forensic of the leaked telephonic conversation between Bushra Bibi, wife of former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan, and her counsel Sardar Latif Khosa, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday also ordered that copies of the petition be sent to the director general of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Justice Babar Sattar, who heard Bushra Bibi’s petition against the audio leak, in his order, said that the DG ISI should submit a report to the court after finding out who had leaked the audio first. “Similarly, PEMRA should tell to the court why an audio based on a private conversation between two individuals had been allowed to go on air,” the judge said.
During the hearing, Latif Khosa, Bushra’s counsel, said that talk between a lawyer and his client should be confidential.
The judge remarked, “You must be aware that the big boss is all ears.”
Justice Sattar’s remarks made everybody in the courtroom laugh.
The judge went on to ask Khosa, “Do you know who is behind phone tapping?”
The latter replied that it was in everybody’s knowledge.
The judge was of the view that such practices were detrimental for the system of justice in the country.
“Did the audio appear on social media?” he asked.
Bushra’s lawyer replied all TV channels played it.
Later removing all objections to the petition, the court adjourned the case’s hearing until December 11.
