22 terrorists killed, 6 soldiers martyred in three operations in KP
At least 22 militants were killed and six soldiers martyred in three operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.
According to ISPR, an intelligence-based operation was conducted by the security forces in general area Gul Imam, Tank District. During the operation, troops effectively engaged the Khwarij and killed nine of them. Six other Khwarij were injured.
In another operation conducted by the security forces in North Waziristan District, 10 Khwarij were successfully neutralised.
In a third encounter, security forces thwarted a Khwariji attempt to attack a security check post in Thall District and killed three Khwarij. During an intense exchange of fire, six soldiers were martyred also martyred.
Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any of the remaining Khwarij in these areas.
The funeral prayers of the brave soldier of the Pakistan Army were offered. The Peshawar Corps Commander, military and civil officials, ex-servicemen and local people participated in the funeral.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid rich tributes to the security personnel who eliminated the terrorists and those who sacrificed their lives in these operations.
President Zardari termed the elimination of 22 terrorists in the operations a great success and said that these operations will continue till complete eradication of terrorism from the country. He also expressed grief and sorrow at the loss of soldiers’ lives in these operations.
Prime Minister Sharif too showered praise on the security forces fighting terrorism and offered his condolences to the families of the martyrs.
Interior Minister Naqvi said the security forces foiled the evil designs of the Khwarij. He offered his condolences to the families of the martyrs and said that they will always stand by them.
