PU student dies accidently as fellow’s pistol goes off

Police claimed that death of Punjab University student was an accident as victim Ammar died of accidental pistol fire by his classmate, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

SP Operations Iqbal Town Bilal Ahmed, addressing a press conference in his office, said that accused Dilawar and Huzaifa were the class and hostel fellows of victim Ammar. 

According to police, three friends left PU hostel no 7 in a car. Dilawar, who was driving the car, had a pistol. While Ammar and Huzaifa were sitting on the back seat. During their journey Huzaifa grabbed pistol from Dilawar for inspection and all of sudden three shots were fired which hit Ammar. 

Accused Dilawar and Huzaifa shifted victim to Sheikh Zayed Hospital. Police said they obtained information from the hospital regarding the accident and arrested the accused. 

Police also refuted the claim of Jamaat-e-Islami, adding that JI workers gave wrong turn to the accident. 

SP Iqbal Town said both accused Dilawar and Huzaifa are in Muslim Town Police custody and further investigation were underway.
