FIRs on violations: Transporters announce countrywide wheel-jam strike tomorrow

All transporters will observe a wheel-jam strike across the country on December 8 due to the imposition of heavy traffic fines and registration of FIRs, reported 4NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Goods Transport Association President Tariq Gujjar, after holding talks with other transport associations and said that the scope of the wheel-jam strike has already expanded as oil tankers and local transporters have also assured their support in the strike. 
Tariq Gujjar said that transporters will suspend their activities at the port from the evening of Monday.
The President of Goods Transporters said that the current government forced them to observe a wheel-jam strike.
Shehzad Awan said that thousands of FIRs were registered against the drivers under the head of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance. 
He further said that vehicles are locked inside every police station.
Senior Vice Chairman Oil Tanker Khanzada Khan Mehsud said that the government should stop attacking the transporters and also save them from becoming bankrupt.

Punjab transporters to observe strike tomorrow

All public and goods transport will be suspended due to the wheel-jam strike announced by the Pakistan Transport Joint Action Committee. Transporters urged the government to withdraw the traffic ordinance and accept their fourteen demands.
