Khawaja Asif slams ‘anti-state’ campaign, backs ISPR DG’s statement
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif Sunday issued a strongly worded statement on X, declaring that Pakistan’s integrity stands above all personal or political interests and criticising what he described as a deliberate attempt to target state institutions.
Asif said that any individual who attacks the state and its institutions for personal goals or becomes a “tool of anti-national forces” deserves to be called a “delusional or sick mind.”
He said the reaction expressed in the ISPR DG’s recent press conference was rooted in “relentless hateful harassment” by the same individual and his followers, calling it unprecedented in Pakistan’s history.

He condemned efforts to create a wedge between the armed forces and their leadership, whom he described as the guardians of Pakistan’s ideological and geographical frontiers.
Asif warned that no attempt to undermine the country’s dignity, sovereignty, or national security would be allowed to succeed. Referring to an incarcerated political figure, he said, “The criminal sitting in Adiala cannot be allowed to play with the stability of the country under any circumstances.”
