Massive forest fire erupts in Murree

A large wildfire broke out on Sunday in the Tret forest area of Murree, with towering flames visible from miles away, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to sources, the prolonged dry spell and autumn season have caused pine needles to ignite rapidly, acting “like kerosene” and intensifying the blaze.

Forest department officials and rescue teams have moved towards the affected area to control the fire, but efforts are being hindered by difficult terrain and the lack of proper road access.

Sources said valuable forest cover, including mature trees, is currently under threat as the fire continues to spread.
