Sugar prices continue to rise 

Sugar prices continue to rise and its prices has jacked up Rs2.68 per kilogram during one week, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

According to a data released by Bureau of Statistics, during the last 3 weeks, sugar prices increased Rs 11.75 per kg and average price of sugar reached Rs 153.11 per kg in the market. The maximum price of sugar in the country remained at Rs 160. 

During the last 10 weeks, sugar in the country increased by an average of Rs21.26 paise per kg. 10 weeks ago, the average price of sugar in the country was Rs131. 85.

The government has allowed the export of 7,50,000 tons of sugar during June to October 2024.
