Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz withdraws from PSL Season 11

Afghanistan’s aggressive opening batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz has announced his withdrawal from the upcoming 11th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), dealing a setback to Peshawar Zalmi ahead of the tournament, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.

Peshawar Zalmi had signed Gurbaz through a direct signing ahead of the PSL 11 player auction.

The Afghan opener announced his decision in a video message shared on Instagram in Pashto, in which he cited personal commitments as the reason for his unavailability.

“I will not be available for the PSL due to some personal engagements. After the World Cup, I will be returning to Afghanistan,” Gurbaz said in the video.

In the caption accompanying the post, Gurbaz thanked his fans for their continued support, writing, “Thank you for all the love and support.”

Peshawar Zalmi had confirmed Gurbaz’s signing on Feb. 5 through its official social media platforms.

Gurbaz’s withdrawal comes as franchises finalise their squads and preparations ahead of the start of PSL Season 11.
