‘Tumse na ho paye ga shadi krlo’: Sonya Hussyn gets teased for calling guddi ‘guthi’ on Basant

Sonya Hussyn lit up the night skies of Lahore this Basant with a playful Instagram reel that captured her energy and festive spirit.

Set to Fariha Pervez's iconic track Patang Baaz Sajna Se, the actress was seen flying a single red kite against the serene backdrop of a moonlit sky partially veiled by clouds. In her caption, she joked, "Hawaa tou chali nahi, Hum ny apni guthi akely hi uraa li. Wake up Lahore, ub tou Karachi waali bhi aa gayi….. ," signaling her fun-loving approach to the festival.

In the reel, Sonya’s look was stylish yet comfortable for the late-night festivities.

She wore a black leather long coat paired with furry slippers, perfect for warmth and casual movement. Her hair was tied into a neat half-ponytail, suggesting she had just arrived home from a shoot.

Her makeup was subtle and appropriate for the midnight setting, accentuating her natural features while complementing the relaxed vibe of her impromptu Basant outing.

Despite the celebratory tone, the reel attracted a mix of reactions from social media users.

Some trollers poked fun at her caption, specifically her reference to the kite as a “guthi.”

One wrote, "Guthi nahi guddii hoti hy…," while another clarified, "Guddi (cross) guthi (tick)."

Other commenters criticized the timing and awareness around Basant safety.

One wrote, "Kal itna bara waqia ho gaya saram se dob mar Jana chaye basant insani Jano se ziada ehem ho gaye aur Karachi wale bhol gaye kya gul pilaza ko," highlighting safety concerns.

Additional remarks ranged from playful teasing, "Tumse naa ho paye gaa shadi krlo or Zindagi Jiyo," to more critical observations about celebrities’ public behavior:"Sharm na hayah…. Jo log yeh kerwa rahe hain woh toh hain he H*****... or tum actresses chand rupon k liye kat putliyaan bani hui ho..”

Another comment added, "Nazuk hatho pay door lag jay gi yar," referencing her delicate handling of the kite.
