The Karachi police have solved the mystery surrounding the murder of a teen girl in the Gulistan Jauhar area where the father turned out to be his own daughter’s killer, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to SSP Altaf Hussain, 16-year-old Qamroosh had been murdered in November 17 last year in the limits of Shahrah-i-Faisal Police Station apparently in the name of “honour”.

He said the girl’s real father, Zainul Abideen alias Doctor, has been arrested for murdering his young daughter on suspicion of having illicit relations with their neighbour Adeel Lashari.

The SSP said after committing the murder the accused also became the applicant, telling the police that some unidentified person knocked at the backdoor of their house and when her daughter opened it he shot her and fled.

The police confirmed that an empty bullet shell collected from the crime scene was actually fired from the 9MM pistol owned by Zainul Abideen.
