IHC issues notice to prime minister in attaches’ appointment case

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday barred the authorities from releasing the results of interviews conducted in August 2026 for the appointment of community welfare attaches at Pakistan’s missions abroad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The high court also barred the issuance of notification of successful candidates.

The court said that the recommendations made by the interview committee should not be finalized.

The IHC issued notices to the prime minister through secretary, the Establishment Division and the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis. 

The court also sought complete record of successful candidates and the candidates called for interviews.  

It directed the parties to the case to submit their replies in writing before the next hearing.

The court said that as per the petitioner, he had cleared the written test for an appointment at Pakistan’s mission abroad; however, he was not called for the interview and his name was omitted from the list of interviewees without listening to him. 

He further said that the concerned officials did not give any reason for their decision.

Later, the IHC adjourned the case’s hearing until September 24.
