Punjab health department on Saturday appointed Dr Haroon Hamid of King Edward Medical University (KEMU) as chief executive officer of Mayo Hospital, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department has issued a notification in this regard. 

Prof Dr. Mohammad Haroon Hamid is presently serving as head of the department of pediatrics besides additional controllers of examinations of KEMU. 

EMU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mahmood Ayaz congratulated him on his appointment and expressed his best wishes. He further said that all the vacancies of the faculty of King Edward Medical University are being filled on a priority basis. He also thanked Punjab Health Minister Prof Dr Yasmin Rashid and health secretary Dr Ahmed Javed Qazi.
