President Zardari bears all expenses of his Iraq visit

Asif Ali Zardari paid the delegation’s expenses from his own pocket during his four-day official visit to Iraq from December 20 to 24, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday. 

According to diplomatic sources, President Zardari himself bore the expenses of the delegation’s transport, accommodation and food. 

He also visited Baghdad, Kufa, Karbala and Najaf with the delegation. 

President Zardari’s delegation included Governor Punjab, Sherry Rehman, Dr. Asim Hussain, Saleem Mandviwala and Sindh Ministers Nasir Ali Shah and Sohail Anwar Siyal. 

During the visit, the President met with his Iraqi counterpart, the Prime Minister and governors and discussed the issues facing Pakistani pilgrims and labourers. 

The President also discussed the promotion of medical tourism in Iraq and discussed important issues of bilateral relations.
