Trump claims credit for boosting NATO contributions, deterring Russia and China
Former US President Donald Trump has claimed credit for increasing NATO member contributions and strengthening global deterrence, 24NewsHD TV reported on Wednesday.
In a statement posted on social media, Trump said NATO’s major allies had failed to pay their required dues in the past, forcing the United States to cover their share “foolishly.” He asserted that during his leadership, NATO allies began paying promptly.
Trump claimed that the US contribution to NATO now stands at five percent.
He further said that without American involvement, Russia would have taken control of the entire Ukraine and NATO would not be feared by either Russia or China.
Emphasizing US military strength, Trump said the American nation is the only force that instills fear in both Russia and China.
He also credited himself with stopping global conflicts, stating that he personally ended eight wars.
