PM Shehbaz says Muslim Ummah has strong resentment over desecration of Holy Quran in Sweden: Bilawal terms desecration ‘an act of blatant provocation’

Forceful rallied held across Pakistan on Friday as a united nation observed Yaum-e-Taqaddus-e-Quran to send a strong message to the outside world about the sanctity of Muslims’ holy book, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Prime Minister Shehbaz had given a call to observe the day to register a protest against the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden.
Peeaceful protest demonstrations and rallies were held all over the country with massive attendance. People belonging to different walks of life took part in the protests to express their resentment over the desecrations of the holy Quran in Sweden.
A person, who migrated from Iraq to Sweden, burned pages of the Holy Quran outside a mosque in Stockholm on the first day of Eidul Azha, prompting outrage in the Muslim world and condemnation from Pope Francis.
In a tweet on Friday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said there is a strong resentment in the Muslim Ummah over the desecration of Holy Quran in Sweden. He said the nation is united for the sanctity of Holy Quran. He said all segments of the society will stage peaceful demonstrations after Friday prayers today to express their sentiments over the despicable incident of desecration of holy Quran.
"Quran is in our hearts. The Quran is not only a recitation for us but a guideline for living," the prime minister added.

Foreign Minister and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden is another example of the rising Islamophobic mindset that seeks to dehumanise and denigrate Islam. "It is an act of blatant provocation to try to inflame sentiments and undermine Islam as a religion of peace, tolerance, and acceptance," the FM said.
"Pakistan will be raising this issue at the UNHRC urgent debate in Geneva on behalf of the OIC Group on 11 July on the premeditated acts of desecration of Holy Quran," he added.

Federal Climate Change Minister Senator Sherry Rehman said the desecration of the holy book just dehumanises Islam, but also deliberately seeks to provoke Muslim sentiment and ignite emotions to undermine the basic teachings of Islam as a religion of peace, tolerance, and acceptance.

Addressing the joint sitting of the Parliament on Thursday, Shehbaz Sharif had urged Islamic countries to forcefully raise their voice against the recent despicable incident of desecrations of the Holy Quran in Sweden at all forms, including the United Nations, so that nobody can dare commit such a cri8me in future.
He said he will contact the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to convene a meeting of the world body on this matter wherein heads or representatives of the all the Islamic countries are invited to express the sentiments of the Muslim Ummah.
He said this session should also pass a condemnation resolution, suggesting ways and means to curb the provocative acts of disrespecting the divine books and holy personalities.
The Prime Minister noted the Islamophobic incidents are a conspiracy aimed at driving wedge between Muslim and the Christians.
He also expressed his thanks to Pope Francis for condemning the incident and distancing himself from this profane act.
