FIA arrests son of ex-PTI MPA while fleeing to Afghanistan

A leader of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf who was fleeing to Afghanistan from Torkham border crossing was arrested on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to FIA officials, PTI Rawalpindi leader Chaudhry Abdul Basit was arrested by FIA staff while fleeing to Afghanistan through Torkham border crossing.

Accused Abdul Basit is the son of former PTI MPA from Rawalpindi, Chaudhry Amjad Mehmood. His name has been placed in the Exit Control List.

According to FIA officials, the accused had prepared travel documents for Europe through which he was supposed to move from Afghanistan to Europe.

The accused was handed over to the Rawalpindi police after completing necessary action.
