Four arrested for stealing Motorway fence, tree-cutting in Faizpur
The M-2 Motorway Police, in a major operation near Faizpur, successfully apprehended four suspects involved in illegal fence-cutting and tree theft, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
The swift intervention and timely response of the vigilant police officers led to the suspects’ immediate arrest.
As per Syed Imran Syed, the spokesman for Motorway Police, the suspects made an attempt to flee the scene upon spotting the approaching officers.
However, upon immediately initiating a coordinated chase, the police remained triumphant in capturing the suspects, namely Adeel, Arsalan, Shahzaib, and Ansar, all of whom belonged to Sheikhupura.
The officers during the operation seized their equipment, which they allegedly used in order to cut through motorway fences and trees, and a rikshaw, which they employed to facilitate the illegal acts.
For further investigation, the suspects were immediately turned over to Factory Area Police.
While emphasizing the serious consequences of such offences, the Motorway Police spokesperson stated that dismantling protective fencing endangers road safety by creating openings for stray animals to wander onto the motorway, ultimately increasing the chances of deadly collisions.
