AJK EC allots election symbols to all parties, independent candidates
The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K) Election Commission on Tuesday allotted election symbols to all political parties and independent candidates ahead of the upcoming general elections in the state, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to details, former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Anwarul Haq was allotted the election symbol of “Bicycle”.
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has been assigned the "Arrow" as its election symbol, while the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will contest with the "Lion". Jamaat-e-Islami has been allotted the "Scales", and the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference has been assigned the "Horse".
According to the Election Commission, the allocation of election symbols has been completed as part of the preparations for the forthcoming general elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The Election Commission also issued the final list of candidates and their election symbols to the public.
Overall, 846 candidates are contesting in the general elections of 2026, and after the allotment of election symbols, candidates expedited their election campaign.
The Election Commission also displayed the final list of candidates with their election symbols on its website and at the relevant offices.
