Okara university’s senior professor dies of coronavirus

Senior-most teacher of University of Okara Professor Dr Khursheed Asghar passed away on Sunday due to coronavirus, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The deceased was one of the founding members of the university and had laid the foundation of the university’s computer and IT department.
The professor was presently serving as the Head of the Computer Science Department and as Director Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) at the University of Okara. Moreover, he was a recipient of PhD Fellowship awarded by Government of Pakistan at Cardiff School of Computer Science and Informatics, Cardiff University, UK.
It is pertinent to mention that the death toll from the coronavirus in Pakistan has topped 2,000 as the country registered 4,960 more patients taking the total number of Covid-19 cases to 98,943 during the last 24 hours.
As far as the active cases are concerned, there are 63,476 people in the country still infected by the virus while the number of those fully recovered from the infection has reached 33,645.
Earlier on Thursday, Pakistan reached yet another tragic milestone as it surpassed China in the total number of coronavirus cases.
