PM orders prompt gas supply to public from newly-made discoveries

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered to immediately provide gas to the people from the recently discovered sources of gas, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The premier took this decision during his meeting with Fauji Foundation Chairman Waqar Ahmad Malik and Mari Petroleum CEO Faheem Haider on Tuesday. State Minister for Petroleum Senator Musaddaq Malik and petroleum secretary were also present on the occasion. 

PM Shehbaz was apprised of the newly discovered gas resources in North Waziristan and Bannu. 

From Bannu, huge discovery of gas resources was made a few days ago which was measured up to 1 trillion cubic feet. 

The prime minister directed to utilize these resources and provide gas to public at the earliest who are facing its shortage. He was also briefed about the situation of total demand and supply of the utility in the country.

The prime minister also summoned recommendations over the development of the area, social welfare, education and health.

The relevant authorities were asked to submit a plan for provision of relief to the residents and their children, living in these areas where new reservoirs had been discovered
