Govt mulling to hike tax rate for non-filers

Bad news for non-filers as the federal government is mulling to increase tax rate for them, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

According to sources, the government will increase tax rate for those who have not submitted their tax returns.

A large number of people who purchase and sell immovable property do not file their tax returns.

Sources said that the non-filers will be brought to the tax net by increasing tax rate on them.

The federal government has also recommended to increase agriculture tax in Punjab.
