Man found dead in apparent suicide after family dispute in Karachi

A man apparently died by suicide after hanging himself at his home in Karachi's Surjani Town area, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday. 

The deceased was identified as Abdul Rehman.

Police and family members said his wife had left the family home and moved to her parents' house around four months ago following a domestic dispute.

According to the victim's brother, Abdul Rehman had visited his wife's family about a week ago in an attempt to reconcile and persuade her to return home, but his efforts were unsuccessful.

Police said Abdul Rehman was the father of four children and appeared to have been distressed over his wife's continued absence.

Preliminary findings suggest he may have taken the extreme step due to emotional stress linked to the family situation.

The body was taken into custody and shifted for legal formalities.

 Police said an investigation was underway and all aspects of the incident were being examined.
