UAE removes PCR Covid-19 test requirements for air travellers

March 7, 2022 06:54 PM

Good news comes for the air travellers as the condition of the Covid-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test has been abolished on arrival in UAE, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The travellers have no longer to undergo a PCR test on arrival in the UAE via Abu Dhabi. However, it will now be optional for them to take the test on arrival in Abu Dhabi if they wish. It will cost Dh40 to take the test at the ‘Arrivals’ PCR facility.

According to Etihad Airways, passengers, whether they have been vaccinated or not, will no longer have to undergo PCR tests at Abu Dhabi Airport. This means that vaccinated people are now exempt from PCR tests before and after departure.

As per Etihad Airways, only non-vaccinated persons must submit a negative PCR test 48 hours prior to departure and must have a QR code.

Healthy people are required to have a 30-day old recovery certificate. Travellers departing from or transiting through Abu Dhabi do not need a PCR test unless it is a requirement at their end destination.
