Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Friday presided over a special meeting to review progress on different development projects in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Lahore presented report about Lahore Development Plan. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed to start desilting of canals in the province.

She also directed to finalize a sewerage system keeping in view of future necessities. The Chief Minister was informed that Water and Sewerage Agency (WASA) will lay 780 kilometer and one to six feet wide pipes in Lahore. During the first phase 450 new sewerage pipes will be laid.

It was decided during the meeting that transparency will be ensured by implementing Lahore Development Management System.

A new app “Inspector App” will be introduced which will enable NESPAK to inspect the project. Digital Tracking will be introduced through Lahore Development Management Information System.

Lahore Development Management Information System will allow to check physical and financial progress of the project.

The Chief Minister was informed that Rs16 billion will be saved with the introduction of Lahore Development Plan.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed to clean all streets of villages as per the standards of city streets.

She directed to adopt zero tolerance policy against quality of development projects. She said during first phase repair work will be completed in six zones of Lahore.

The Chief Minister was briefed that Lahore Development Plan includes sewerage system, connection of roads, wide and smooth streets. 

Installation of streets lights and restoration of parks are also part of the programme.
