Rs340 million funds released for purchase of medicines in Mayo Hospital 

On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, funds for the procurement of medicines has been released for Mayo Hospital Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

A total of Rs340 million has been transferred to hospital’s account for purchasing essential medicines. CM Maryam Nawaz had paid a surprise visit to Mayo Hospital on Thursday and personally listened to the complaints and concerns of the people regarding shortage of medicines. A total of Rs. 340 million has been transferred for purchasing essential medicines. 

The government has also permitted the hospital to utilize existing pay and allowance funds from vacant positions for medicine procurement. The Finance Department has issued an official order for the reallocation of these funds. 

Despite having additional budgetary funds, Mayo Hospital had not been utilizing them effectively for medical supplies.
