1,250kg drugs worth $110 million seized in Gwadar mountain raid

Pakistan Coast Guards and Pakistan Navy have seized 1,050 kg of hashish and 200 kg of meth (ice) hidden in mountains of Jiwani area of Gwadar during a joint operation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

According to a spokesperson, the global value of the seized drugs is over $110 million which was to be smuggled abroad by sea.

Pakistan Coast Guard is committed to preventing drug smuggling and eliminating the networks involved.

Drug smuggling networks provide terrorists with an organized source of income, the elimination of which has become inevitable.

Meanwhile, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested six drug dealers including two women during three operations in different cities and recovered 87.4 kg drugs worth Rs8.7 million.

According to ANF spokesperson, 26.4 kg hashish was recovered from a man and a woman riding a motorcycle near Faizpur of District Sheikhupura.

About one kg hashish hidden in a punching pad in a parcel was recovered from a courier office located on Ring Road Peshawar.

Cases have been registered under the Narcotics Control Act 1997 and an investigation has been initiated.
