16,000 liters of expired cold drinks, juices of branded company destroyed in Rawalpindi
During the ongoing crackdown against the sale of substandard and unhygienic food, a Pakistan Food Authority (PFA) team raided a godown and destroyed 16,000 liters of expired cold drinks and juices of a branded company in Rawalpindi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to details, after receiving credible information, a team of PFA raided a godown of cold drinks located in Ratta Amral area of Rawalpindi and seized the substandard cold drinks.
At the time of the raid, the original expiration date of cold drinks was being erased with the help of a buffer machine.
A police team arrested the accused who were tempering the expiry date and registered a case against them.
It is necessary to mention here that during the holy month of Ramadan, the usage of cold drinks has increased manifold.
