Waseem Badami raises awareness on child safety during live show

Pakistani television host Waseem Badami took a proactive step in child safety during a special segment on his live show, educating children about the crucial concept of “Good Touch and Bad Touch.”

According to sources, the segment featured Badami seated on a log-style bench with a group of children aged 5 to 10, on the set of the show, which was decorated in a garden like theme.

The discussion was gentle, educational, and designed to make sensitive topics accessible to young viewers.

Badami explained that any touch from an adult that makes a child feel uncomfortable or unhappy qualifies as a “bad touch,” emphasizing that children’s feelings are the most important indicators.

He encouraged them to immediately inform parents or a trusted adult, using the words “Ammi” and “Abbu” to make the advice relatable.

The host also warned children about potential grooming tactics, such as being lured with gifts or asked to go somewhere alone, and stressed the importance of reporting such situations to parents.

By bringing the conversation to a popular live television platform, Badami helped normalize discussions around personal boundaries, empowering both children and their caregivers.

According to reports, the segment has been widely praised for its impact. Parents were reminded of the importance of open dialogue, while children gained confidence to recognize and report inappropriate behavior.

The initiative has also helped raise public awareness, potentially preventing future incidents and reinforcing a culture of child safety in Pakistan.
