PTI’s Asad Umar, 180 others booked for taking out rally in Islamabad

The Islamabad police have registered a case against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leaders including Asad Umar, Raja Khurram and others for taking out a rally on Saturday in violation of Section 144, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

The FIR was registered in the Margala police station. Police nominated 47 PTI leaders including Asad Umar, Raja Khurram Nawaz and booked another unknown 180 workers in the case.

Islamabad police itself is a complainant in the FIR.

Yesterday, the PTI took out a rally in the federal capital to express solidarity with the constitution and the chief justice of Pakistan despite the fact that the party was not allowed to hold the gathering by the deputy commissioner.

The ICT administration imposed Section 144 in the federal capital barring all kinds of gatherings/rallies and assemblies in order to maintain security during an international event Pakistan was hosting yesterday in which foreign ministers of China and Afghanistan were participating.
