ANP leader Samiullah Bajauri shot dead in Karachi’s Janjal Goth

A local leader of the Awami National Party (ANP) was shot dead in a targeted firing incident in Janjal Goth, located off the Super Highway, on Friday morning, police and party officials confirmed.

According to police, the victim was identified as 45-year-old Samiullah Bajauri, who was serving as the president of ANP East District New Sabzi Mandi UC-8.

Police said the shooting occurred when two unidentified men knocked on the door of Samiullah’s house. When the door was opened, the assailants entered the premises and opened fire, fatally injuring him before fleeing the scene.

DSP Sohrab Goth Aurangzeb Khattak said that initial investigations suggest the attack was likely motivated by personal enmity.

“The firing incident appears to be the result of enmity. Samiullah had been attacked before, and there was an ongoing dispute in his village,” DSP Khattak said.

The victim’s body was shifted to a nearby hospital for legal formalities and postmortem examination. Police teams have launched a search operation in the area to trace the attackers.

Meanwhile, ANP Sindh spokesperson Rehman Babar strongly condemned the killing, calling it a targeted and cowardly attack on a party worker.

“Samiullah Bajauri was the president of ANP East District New Sabzi Mandi UC-8. We condemn this brutal incident and demand that his killers be arrested immediately,” Babar said in a statement.

Law enforcement agencies have intensified investigations, while the ANP has demanded swift justice and enhanced security for its local leadership amid growing concerns over targeted attacks in Karachi’s outskirts.
