PCB clarifies Wahab Riaz not appointed as women’s team consultant

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a clarification regarding reports about former Test cricketer Wahab Riaz’s appointment as a consultant for the national women’s team, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday. 

According to the PCB spokesperson, Wahab Riaz is currently associated with the board as a consultant and is working with multiple departments. 

 However, the spokesperson emphasised that no additional or permanent responsibilities have been assigned to him at this stage with the Pakistan women's cricket team.

This clarification follows reports of Wahab's appointment as a consultant to the team.

According to sources, the 40-year-old has been collaborating with the Director of Women’s Cricket for the past few weeks to develop the plans and long-term strategies for the team.
