Trailer crushes woman, three kids to death on Mehran Highway

A woman and her three children who were riding a motorcycle lost their lives, and one became injured when a trailer crushed them on Mehran National Highway due to overspeeding, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

The accident took place at Kot Lalu Faiz Gang area of Khairpur. Police said that the dead persons were identified as Akram 6, Rahim 4, Sheraz 7, and their mother, Amiran Khatoon. The injured man was identified as Ghulam Raza Shar.

Soon after the incident, local police rushed to the site and shifted the dead and injured persons to the hospital.

Later, the heirs of dead persons staged a sit-in at Mehran National Highway against entry of heavy vehicles in the city despite the ban. Due to the sit-in, long queues of vehicles were witnessed.

Oil overturned in Nawab Shah

A driver and cleaner became seriously injured when their oil tanker was overturned on the National Highway near Qazi Ahmad Nawabshah.

The oil tanker was loaded with 48,000 liters of petrol and was going from Karachi to Daultpur.

Soon after the incident Motorway police, rescue, and fire-brigades team rushed to the spot. 

Later, the Motorway Police closed the highway going to Punjab from Karachi.
