PM, leaders saddened over Harnai quake losses

Prime Minister Imran Khan ordered immediate assistance on an emergency basis for the Harnai earthquake victims as he and other politicians expressed their condolences over the loss of lives in the earthquake, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

PM Imran Khan said that he has directed the authorities for an immediate assessment of the damage for timely relief and compensation. He extended condolences and prayers to the families who lost their loved ones.

Opposition Leader in the National Assembly and PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif urged authorities to act on war footing to rehabilitate those affected by the disaster. 

He tweeted, “Sad over the loss of precious lives due to the earthquake in Balochistan last night. My profound condolences and prayers go out to the affected families. The authorities must act on war footing to rehabilitate those affected by this disaster.”

PPP Co-Chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have also expressed their deep sorrow over the loss of several precious lives in the tragedy of 5.9-strong earthquake that struck Balochistan in the wee hours of Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In his message, Asif Zardari condoled and expressed sympathy with the families who have lost their dear and near ones in this calamity. He asked the federal and Balochistan governments to help the affected people in every possible manner. He demanded better treatment facilities for those who got injured in the quake. 

He prayed for the departed souls who got killed in the tragedy and wished for early recovery of the injured. 

PPP Chairman Bilawal also expressed his heart-felt grief over the loss of human lives in the early morning tragedy in his message. He offered his condolences to the families whose relatives were killed in the jolt. He called upon the federal and provincial governments to provide every kind of help to the affected people. 

He urged upon the leaders of the PPP (Balochistan chapter) to carry out relief efforts in the quake-hit areas. He prayed for the quick recovery of injured people. 

PML-Q supremo Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and Federal Minister for Water Resources Moonis Elahi also expressed their condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the deadly earthquake that jolted Balochistan in the wee hours of Thursday.

PMLQ leaders urged the government to announce a compensation package and provision of best medical facilities including air ambulances to the victims immediately.
