The Islamabad police on Friday finalised the security plan for the federal capital and decided to deploy 30,000 personnel to deal with the possible long march of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), 24NewsHD TV channel reported citing police sources.

The personnel of Rangers, FC, Elite Force, and Islamabad and Sindh police will be deployed in the federal capital.

About Rs150 million will be spent daily on food, containers and other expenses of the security personnel.

The high-ups in the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Interior have been informed about the expenses.

It is feared that a large number of the PTI workers would come from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) through motorway.

The Islamabad police have suggested the closure of Islamabad International Airport. “About 1,300 containers will be installed at the entry and exit points of Islamabad,” police sources said.

“If the participants of the long march reach the entry points and roads of Islamabad, holidays can be announced in local schools and colleges,” they added.

“Emergency will be announced in all hospitals of the federal capital. Holidays of police, doctors, paramedical staff and relief agencies will be cancelled,” they stated.
