Jeans, tights banned for female Islamabad teachers; shawls for males

The federal government has introduced a formal ‘dress code’ for teachers in federal educational institutions banning females from wearing jeans and tights, reported 24NewHD TV channel.
As per the notification issued on Tuesday by the Federal Directorate of Education, female teachers can wear a clean scarf and hijab. They can also wear sandals and sneakers but cannot wear slippers as they are banned in educational institutions.

The authorities said that the male teachers are also not allowed to wear jeans and T-shirts. They will also be banned from wearing a shawl during the winter.
The male teachers can wear sweaters of beautiful colours and designs in winter. They can also use coasts and jerseys.

According to the Federal Directorate of Education, male teachers must wear waistcoat with shalwar qameez.

The notification says all the teachers must don teaching gowns in classes and lab coats in laboratories.
The area education officers have been directed to ensure the implementation of the new dress code.
