Nation celebrates Air Force Day with zeal, fervor 

Today, the nation is celebrating Air Force Day with zeal and enthusiasm, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

It was on this day (September 7), way back in 1965, that the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) had inflicted a humiliating defeat on the Indian Air Force by showing exemplary bravery and professionalism.  

Who can forget the accomplishment made by Squadron Leader Muhammad Mahmood Alam, who downed four planes of the Indian Air Force in just 30 seconds and stunned the world.  

PAF holds main ceremony at Air Headquarters to pay tribute to martyrs

According to the ISPR, the Pakistan Air Force celebrated Martyrs' Day across the country on Sunday, and the main ceremony was held at Air Headquarters Islamabad.

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu was the chief guest of the ceremony. He paid tribute to the martyrs and said that selflessness and sacrifice are the hallmarks of the PAF.

He said the Pakistan Air Force is committed to defending the motherland and developing modern capabilities.

Mohsin Naqvi pays rich tributes to Pakistan Air Force

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday paid rich tribute to the brave Shaheens of the Pakistan Air Force, who are always ready to defend the aerial boundaries of the beloved country.

In his special message on Air Force Day, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that on September 7, the brave officers of the Pakistan Air Force destroyed the enemy's aerial power and wrote unmatched chapters of courage, bravery, and valour.

Mohsin Naqvi said that after 60 years of September 1965, in May 2025 Pakistani Shaheens created history by downing 6 Indian fighter planes.

He said that Pakistan Air Force pilots, engineers, and technicians are real assets of Pakistan.

He stated that despite limited resources, the Pakistan Air Force thwarted the enemy's nefarious designs in the 1965 war.

He added that our Shaheens established complete dominance in the skies, and MM Alam set a record by destroying five enemy planes in one minute.

He said that September 7, 1965, is a golden day in the history of the Pakistan Air Force. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that the nation will always remember the unparalleled services and eternal sacrifices of the personnel of the Pakistan Air Force.

He said that the entire nation pays glowing tribute to the bravery and spirit of the martyrs of the Pakistan Air Force.

He stated that the role of the Pakistan Air Force in thwarting the enemy's attack will always be remembered in history.

On Saturday, Air Vice Marshal Shehryar Khan said that Operation Banyan Al-Marsoos had refreshed the memories of September 6 and warned that if India committed a mistake again, the score of downing of warplanes will not be limited to 6-0 but it will touch 60-0. 

Air Vice Marshal Shahryar Khan, who was the chief guest at the change of the guards ceremony at Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi, said that it is an honour for the Pakistan Air Force Academy, Asghar Khan, to assume the duties of guards at the Quaid-e-Azam’s shrine. 

He said September 6 reminded the nation of the day when the enemy's ambitions were crushed. 

He said that the PAF was ready on every front. “The Pakistan Air Force has lived up to the hopes of the people. The Air Force has never disappointed the people. We are proud that the Pakistan Air Force is at the forefront in times of peace as well as war,” he added. 

Air Vice Marshal assured the nation that the defence of Pakistan's airspace was in the strong hands of the air force. 

He said that technological innovation has made the Pakistan Air Force famous in the world and next time the score will not be limited to six zero, but it will be 60 zero.
