PTI activists stage protest at Karachi’s Regal Chowk, demand release of Imran Khan
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) staged a protest demonstration at Regal Chowk, demanding the immediate release of its founder, Imran Khan, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.
The charged political demonstration drew a significant number of participants, including a large contingent of women supporters, underscoring PTI’s growing momentum on the streets.
According to reports, a heavy police presence was deployed at Regal Chowk to maintain law and order.
The PTI workers had originally planned to gather near the Karachi Press Club; however, road closures and blockades in the surrounding areas forced them to relocate to Regal Chowk, where the protest gained momentum.
Chanting slogans and waving party flags, PTI activists reiterated their demand for Imran Khan’s release, calling it essential for political justice and democratic freedom.
The protest highlighted the party’s resilience despite increasing restrictions on political gatherings in the city.
The situation remained tense as authorities kept a close watch on the protest, though no major incidents of violence were reported at the time of filing this report.
