Five people lost their lives, and twenty others sustained serious injuries when a speeding passenger coach overturned on the National Highway at Daulatpur Bypass, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

According to initial reports, the coach was travelling at high speed when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to flip and crash.

The impact of the accident was severe, resulting in immediate fatalities and dozens of critical injuries.

Upon receiving the alert, police and rescue teams rushed to the scene and swiftly transported the injured and deceased to the nearest hospital.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash and are working to identify those involved.

Two dead people were later identified as Mohammad Shafi and Nazeer, while the identity of the remaining three persons is still unknown.

The injured persons are identified as Umaid Ali, Ejaz Mehar, Mohammad Zahid, Hussain Azad, Junaid, Shehbaz Ali, Qurban, Zohaib, including 20 people, including women and children.

Motorway police and Edhi volunteers shifted the dead and injured persons to Shahpur Jahanian and Qazi Ahmad Hospital.

This latest tragedy comes just months after a hit-and-run incident in July 2025 at the same location claimed the lives of two police officers, adding to the region’s growing list of road safety concerns.

In that earlier incident, Constables Mazhar Ali Jiskani and Roshan Ali Almani were returning to the Shahpur Jehanian police checkpost on a motorbike after completing their duties during a mourning procession in Daulatpur.

The vehicle responsible for the fatal collision fled the scene and has yet to be identified.
