Rawalpindi court sentences man to death in housewife murder case

A Rawalpindi court has sentenced a man to death and another to life imprisonment after finding them guilty of the murder of a housewife.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Afsha Ijaz Sufi announced the verdict after examining the evidence presented by the prosecution.

The court sentenced Arif to death and imposed a fine of Rs1 million. His co-accused, Usman, was sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Rs5 million.

According to the prosecution, Arif worked as the financial manager of the woman’s household and killed her with the assistance of Usman.

The prosecution said it established the charges against the accused through evidence presented during the trial.

A case over the killing was registered at Chaklala Police Station in June 2025.

The court announced the verdict after considering the evidence and arguments presented during the proceedings.
