IHC stops cutting of trees from Ataturk Avenue Express Chowk to Aga Khan Road

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has stopped the cutting of trees from Ataturk Avenue Express Chowk to Aga Khan Road, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro heard the petition of a woman citizen Ayesha Muzaffar.

According to petitioner’s lawyer, the court has ordered that the CDA cannot cut trees in Islamabad.

Despite the court ban, the decision of January 15, 2026, is being clearly violated.

CDA is cutting trees under the guise of widening roads.

On one hand, an austerity campaign is going on; on the other hand, billions of rupees are being invested in the project.

More than 55 big trees and dozens of small trees will be cut due to this project.

On the one hand, an environment levy is being levied on petrol, and on the other hand, trees are being cut.

However, Islamabad High Court stopped CDA from cutting all types of trees.

The court issued notices to the parties and sought their response and adjourned the hearing of the case till next week.
