Delivery gone wrong: Online taxi driver flees with Rs45,000 food in Lahore

In a strange twist to food delivery, an online taxi driver in Lahore reportedly disappeared with food and crockery worth Rs45,000, leaving the sender stunned.

According to local reports, a complaint was registered at Harbanspura Police Station by a citizen named Hammad Hassan.

The incident occurred when Hammad used the ride-hailing app to send a large food delivery to his relatives in Model Town.

Shortly after the driver picked up the food, the ride was unexpectedly cancelled.

Attempts to reach customer support through the app yielded no results, and the driver was untraceable—along with the food and crockery.

The stolen items, valued at Rs45,000, included homemade food packed for a family gathering.

This incident comes amid growing concerns over the safety of ride-hailing services in Pakistan.

In recent months, there has been a surge in reported crimes involving online taxi drivers, including theft, abduction, and harassment—particularly targeting female passengers.
